Governance
The Town of Lake City, Colorado and Hinsdale County established the Hinsdale County Regional Library District by joint resolution in 1979. The library, doing business as the Lake City/John Wagner Public Library, is a taxing district that collects tax revenues for the operation of the library.
Other funding sources are donations, grants and special projects. In 1995, the Friends of the John Wagner Library, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed as a support and service provider for the library.
Lake City Public Library is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Lake City Public Library
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.

Lake City Public Library regularly scans its website to ensure ongoing compliance, and makes timely
